It's been an eventful week in Hammies, starting with Tuesday's closely contested match between the Hammies and Our Ladys Templmore. While the Hammies narrowly missed out on the win, it was a great effort from an ever progressing team.
On Wednesday ... and Thursday, the RSA visited the school to teach the students about road safety. This is a crucial lesson that everyone should learn, experiencing real life situations as a deterrent.
Meanwhile, the Chraobh Reigiunach debating team finished second in a highly competitive competition. This is a fantastic achievement considering the strength of the opposition. Congratulations to the team on their impressive performance.
Thursday saw another close match, with the under 15 hurlers narrowly losing to Kinsale. The team put in a brilliant performance, but unfortunately the weather conditions weren't in their favour. Still, they should be proud of their efforts on the pitch.
The excitement is palpable at the school as the All Ireland final approaches next weekend. Students and staff alike are buzzing with anticipation as they prepare for the match. There's no doubt that the school will be watching the match with bated breath next weekend, cheering on their team with all their might. It's a wonderful display of school spirit and community, and one that's sure to make for a memorable and exciting day.

Ms O'Mahony has been impressed with their progress and hopes ... that their hard work will pay off in the upcoming competition.
On Friday, our under 14 footballers took on Clonakilty in what was a thrilling match. We will be sharing a full match report on our social media platforms soon.
But, the biggest talking point of the week has been the upcoming All Ireland semi-final. The whole school is buzzing with excitement, and we want to wish the whole panel the best of luck. We know that they will do us proud, and we are all behind them.

Our senior hurlers emerged victorious in the Munster hurling final, which is a major milestone as the school had never before claimed ... this title. We are incredibly proud of everyone who was involved in this momentous achievement.
Additionally, our students hosted the Model UN event at Bandon GAA, showcasing excellent organization and execution skills. It was a proud moment for our school to witness the level of maturity and dedication displayed by our students.
Finally, our 3rd-year students wrapped up their pre-exams this week and are now back to work as they prepare for the next set of challenges.
Read moreLessWith the four day week this week made it all bit more hectic. Tuesday started off in Pairc Ui Chaoimh with the U14 footballers seeing off local rivals Skibbereen. There were two games in which Hammies won both. After their ... matches they got a tour of the stadium. On Wednesday the U16.5’s were out against Midleton CBS. A tantalising performance sealed their place in the Munster quarter final versus Templemore. There were some very impressive performances and gave the management a big team selection head ache for the next day. On Thursday the Athletics Team went to Tramore Valley Park for the South Munster Cross County Championships. Our lads made a great showing in a very competitive field. 6th years can finally take a breath after the pre’s finished up. Some very positive reports coming from the lads which is always a good sign. With mid term next week, they have probably earned a day or two off to relax. 3rd years have their pres when we return to school on the 20th, so they unfortunately can’t relax too much.
